Orange County Unity Bar Founders Heidi Plummer and Frances Prizzia were seen in San Diego in February of 2025 renewing friendship at the San Diego Unity Bar 2nd Anniversary Unity Bar Event.   The event featured a fireside chat with Deputy Judicial Appointment Secretary Adam Hofmann, Administrative Presiding Judge Judith McConnell, Justice Shama Mesiwala and Unity Bar Arcelia Magana.  The information presented were both interesting and informative.

The event was attended by over 300 justices, judges and attorneys on a Wednesday night.  It was impressive to see so many prominent justices, judges and attorneys gathered together for the Unity Bar event in the middle of the work week

San Diego Unity Bar grew from the original 9 affiliates to 13 affiliates making them the largest Unity Bar in California followed by Orange County Unity Bar with 12 affiliates and Los Angeles County Unity Bar with 10 affiliates.  Kudos to San Diego County, Orange County and Los Angeles Count Unity Bar for their activism and diversity.

Judicial Appointment Secretary Luis Cespedes will be speaking at the King County Unity Bar Inaugural Event in Visalia on Thursday March 20, 2025. The event is also cosponsored by the Tulare County Unity Bar.  It is also said that Judicial Appointment Secretary Luis Cespedes will be in Fresno at the Central Valley Unity Bar Gala on April 10, 2025.    Chief Deputy Judicial Appointment Secretary Adam Hofmann will be with Luis Cespedes at both events with justices, judges and Unity Bar leaders from different counties.  Both events promise to be fun, informative and an excellent opportunity to meet the two Judicial Appointment Secretarys and make new friends.

I remembered thinking years ago that the U.S. Constitution was sacred, untouchable and the law of the land.  The Constitution was indestructible and would endure to the end of times.  I chuckled when we became attorney and swore to defend the Constitution against all enemy, foreign and domestic.  I thought how silly.  What domestic enemy could there be in the United. States?  I was naïve and wrong.  I hope all of us attorneys will remember our oath when that time comes in the future.

I believe freedom is not free and victory only goes to the brave and the bold.  We will remain free as long as we are the brave and the bold.
